I don't know why I'm not that fond to mixing peplum with skirts.... maybe because I like to keep the rule of proportions (something flare with something tight) and peplum plus skirt seems too much for me... anyway this outfit was perfect for keeping that rule, because the pencil skirt always helps to give a fitted look.

I really like peplum tops, but I'm getting a little bit sick of seeing them everywhere!! am I the only one with that feeling?

Can't remember the last time I used this trousers... I found them at the bottom of my closet waiting for an opportunity to see the sunlight. A pretty, monocromatic business casual combination with only some accesories, like the necklace and studded slippers.

There are some days (lots of them) when I'm not that creative in what I'm going to wear, and I just take a pair of jeans and a shirt... Whean that happens, most of the times the solution to make it more formal or chic consist in wearing the right accesories. This outfit is exactly like that. I wore a simple (but beautiful) silk shirt and white jeans, but I choose my studded heels, and some pretty bracelets. Really simple, but the details makes the difference.

Sometimes (most of the times) I figure out an outfit by choosing an specific main item that stands out from the other pieces. Sometimes it's a shirt, sometimes the shoes, but in this case it was this scarf, a present that came right from Asia (thailand or cambodia I think). I'm starting to be a fan of scarves during rainy days!!!

I must confess that I love rainy days and cold (not thaaat cold) days. Defenitly I have an obsession with boots and blazers and coats. The bad thing about my clothes preferences is the weather in Guadalajara. We can have a chilly rainy morning but by midday the weather is hot as hell, and by the afternoon it started raining again... solution: Layers.

I loved how my umbrella gave this look a pop of color :)

So as the season start to change, I would like to share some of the trends awainting for us next season. After fashionshows and streetstyle I made a recopilation of them, trying to show the ways you can add this trends to your everyday outfits. Hope this could help to make a shopping list to be ready for next fall and winter!

Either with total look or just some main pieces, this color is one of the strongest of the season. Best if combined with winter colors (black, grays and white). I love this color because it's very elegant and doesn't tired at all.

This trend has already started with the so used boyfriend jeans, so you better go to your brother/dad/boyfriend closet to search for some ideas... Buttoned collar shirts, blazers, oxford shoes... there are plenty combinations you can experiment with.

This camo trend has also already started, but it comes stronger this season, mostly because of its use on jackets and blazers, but also on pants. I recomend to not exagerate with the use of this print, but just as a highligher of your outfit. I personally love how it look with a balzer or any other item that's more elegant, because it gives the look a balance between formal and casual.

It's the total-white trend of the summer, but adding up a little bit the pallete... A very neat and elegant trend, that can be used as much as your imagination goes.

I absolutely adore this trend because I'm a huge gloves fan!! (sadly the weather in Guadalajara doesn't get that colder in winter to use them all the time). The lenght of the gloves goes from short to medium. You name the style! studs, lined, finger opened, leather, mohair.... I can't wait to start wearing them!!

Feathers will be very trendy this season.. specially in skirts and coats, in a really elegant way... looks inspired in swans and owls were very used during fashion weeks so you better start looking for your perfect item... also could be used as dresses, purses... even boots! How would you dare to use them?

A very 90's trend: the grunge. This trend gives all the liberty to experiment with, but there are some key items for the looks: leather, tartan shirts, combat boots, seatshirts, caps, etc. Defenitely the perfect trend for those relaxed days...

Either high boots or very thight socks, this trend is perfect for those short skirts and dresses, so you can still use them even with the low temperatures.. who said you can only show leg in summer?. Obviously the main color is black, but you can look for them also in grays or navy blue.

If you already started looking for a new coat for the winter, you have to make sure it's pink. Defenitely was one of the principal items in the catwalks. The bigger the better!

The warmest of the trends. mohair sweaters will be very trendy, even thoug you think it's more like an item for your grandma. Use them with statement neclace, add them up with some sequins and relax them with boyfriend jeans!!

When I see this trend I immediatly think about the uniform I had for school as a child. This is one of those trends that retruns every 10 years or so, but with different cuts and ways to wear them. Be sure to really balance the use of one tartan item with the rest of the outfit.. You decide how much you want to take advantage of this trend... but make sure you have at least a scarf with this print.

This trend started since last fall and winter, so you can still use the sweaters or skirts that you bought. This trend is not as flamboyant as the tartan trend, so you can use it more without looking bad. Jackets, coats, swaters, skirts, dresses... you name it!

This is the funniest trends because it gives the opportunity to take out of the closet your Disneyland sweatshirts, cartoon shirts, and even that funny sweater that you grandma gave you years ago and you swore you would never use it... Be sure to balance the use of this prints with more basic items, at least you have an impeccable taste of fashion and dare to make it crazier.

I hope you find this guide useful! Have a nice week :)

Really in love with my palazzo pants. Although they are an outstanding item, I like to wear them a lot, trying new combinations... but definitely the best colo to mix them is black. I like the fact that print is not that crazy that you will only use them once... maybe that's why I haven't found another palazzo pants that completely satisfies me. Any recomendations?

I really like rainy days... sometimes I get tired of them when you start to forget how the sun looks like, but when they are spontanous it's the perfect opportunity to rest from skirts and shorts and bare legs and take out the boots and (light) sweaters.

Wearing: Shirt (H&M) / Sweater (Cirila) / Scarf from my mom.

Have a nice weekend!

And we're back to the outfits posts.... I'm missing so much my vacations! I returned with some new items that I will show you in the next posts, but I started with this beautiful lace peplum shirt, perfect to make any pair of jeans or pants a bit more elegant.

My trip was coming to an end but gratefully there was still some cities to visit. The last french city before going to Spain was Bordeaux, and it really was a surprise!I never thought it would be that beautiful, with all the parisian architecture but with less movement; it was also very clean and full of light. We did some last minute shopping and walked around the city, enjoying the lifestyle, and finishing the day with a delicious dinner :)

Another day in Evian. We spent the morning there and then start our way to Bordeaux. I'm so glad we had the chance to be in France at the begining and at the end of the trip!!! We ate incredible there! even though it was only a cafe au lait and pain au chocolat. Also the day before I had the most amazing fondue :)

After visitng Salzburg, we went to Lucerne and walked around the city. Although it was pretty cold, the weather was perfect to make the landscapes more charming and enchanted. We also went that day to Evian, but in the way we stopped to have a better view of the Alps :)

Crazy weather in Salzburg and reduced options in my suitcase, so I had to improvise a little.
Once again, this is one of my favorite cities!! We had the chance to visit the Festung Hohensalzburg (the castle at the top of the principal mountain). Also we went one more time to the Mirabell Gardens and walk by the river.

Fifth post about my trip to Europe and now it's time for Vienna, one of the most elegant and lordly cities I've ever been, and also a cradle of culture due to Mozart's love for the city and the numerous artist exposed in some of the most important museums of art in the world.

Budapest. One of my favorite cities of my recent trip. For a lot of people it's still an unknown city, but I almost dare to say it's like the Paris of the East Europe. The city is divided by the Danube River in two: Buda and Pest. Each part of the city offers a lot of sights, but I must say that my favorite part was walking by the river at night and see both sides beautifully illuminated.

The second destination of my trip was Strasbourg. Love the fact that the city it's still french but has all the german architecture and the river between the streets. It has a lot of old buildings, lot of history and beautiful bridges all around the city.
Here the weather wasn't improving, but I survived thanks to my favorite jacket in the world <3 p="">

I'm back from my wonderful trip, so the next posts will be more likely about my adventures rather than outfits. I almost couldn't wear any  of the outfits I planned so carefully before the trip, because the weather was far colder than expected, so I had to buy a lot of things there (poor me).
Starting this journal with Paris, I have to say that even when I stayed this time in this beatuful city only for one day and a half, it's still my favorite city in the world and I just can't get enough of it.
For this cold and rainy day I had to use layers, starting with a simple shirt, a cardigan and a jacket, plus jeans and a pair of boots I had to buy and that became my best friends for all the trip (you will see them in a lot of posts).

miércoles, 3 de julio de 2013

I have so much in my mind right now that I can't spend much time thinking about outfits, so I thank god those days I have enough inspiration to think about what I'm going to wear in less than 2 minutes. Also it's a bit difficult to guess the weather here,

miércoles, 26 de junio de 2013

Looking at this outfit I just think about one thing: a safari... well but instead of wearing gladiator sandals I would wear some boots. I looooved this palette of earthy colors, perfect for the summer weather.
You will be seeing this shorts much more often, because they have been one of my best acquisitions lately and they are perfect for the season because of the linen!
I hope you like this outfit as much as I do!  :)
